Thanks for letting me know about that update. The sections on rescued companions and dog heroes was heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time.

Thanks, too, for spreading the word that it isn't just humans who suffer when humans are bad. And it is also not just humans who are heroic in the effort to ameliorate suffering.

I heard from from one of our New England K-9 Search and Rescue members who's been with a FEMA group in NYC.

He tells me that the conditions for search dogs (and people) is a lot more hazardous than has been reported.

In fact, several search dogs have been killed at the site while doing their work.

Sad news, indeed.
